WESLEY GUILD
The meeting of the Wesley Guild which took place last Thursday, is likely to be long remembered. The subject- was the devotional one of “Christianity iu the Home,” and was brought before those present in papers of exceptional thou.ghliulness and merit written by Misses Alary Ijowo and Dorothy Milsou; Air Norman Baicke also giving a short address. George Herbert's famous and beautiful poem. "Elixir'’ was read, as hearing on the subject. Scripture leadings were given and hymns announced by members of the audience ; and a deeply interesting couversat ion followed the papers, in which a consideiable number joined. Tomorrow evening a paper otf “George Frederick Handel’' will be given by Airs Christian. Aiusical illustrations will lie given vocal I v I v Airs Day (Miss Oora Me ■. Alesdames Christian. Castles and Baltimore; Air Corrigan, Air I leakin and Air Aleikle. ; while “The Harmonious Blacksmith 1 ’ and other piano music will be given by Airs Suddard Foster. An unusual and novel addition (o the programme will be the singing- by the Royal Choral Society, and the famous Sheffield Choir, of several of the glorious “Messiah” choruses, heard by means of the gramophone, kindly lent for fhe occasion by Mr Healy. A collection will be. taken up for the working expenses of fl|e Wesley Guild. All coiners will lie heartily welcomed.
