FIRE IN WELLINGTON

'Wellington, July 7. A lire in Lamb tan Quay this morning wiped out the shop of Bruce Howe. a. mercer, in Harold Brown and Company’s buildings. The fire- was caused by the accidental ignition of a box ol wax matches, which were dropped on a bundle of tissue paper. The brigade effected a good save. The insurances are £I4OO on Howe's stock, and CloO on tea rooms owned by Mrs Lavery next door, which were damaged, by water and smoko.
