POSTAL HOLIDAYS

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR

Tuesday, December 25, (Christmas Day), Wednesday, December 26, (Boxing Day) and Tuesday, January 1, (New Year’s. Day) will be observed as close holidays.

The Post Office will be closed in all its branches on those days. The Telegraph Office will also- be closed, unless advised later. The telephone exchange will be open as usual, day and night. Postmen’s deliveries will not be made.

A delivery of all correspondence, including registered, usually delivered .by the postmen, will be made fiver the post office counter between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the evenings of December 24 and 31.

Noi mails will be despatched on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. All correspondence l will be despatched per steamer mail to Auckland on Mondays, December 24 and 31, closing at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, December 26, all mails usually despatched on that day, will close at the usual tune up to 8 a.m. All other ‘mails will close at 8 am.
