A telegram from Cooper Mills, Maine ,says, driven to desperation and madness by separation from his wife, John Snow, a Polish lumberman, 25 years of age, killed five persons and himself. Airs Snow was living with her mother of eighty years, as the result of a. quarrel with her husband. She was entertaining friends, including a neighbour’s wife and the latter 3 son and Airs Snow’s sister. Snow, who- worked in the woods nearby, told a friend earlier in the clay that he missed his wife very much and wept. Snow apparently proceeded to his mother-in-law’s house and came upon the group of women. An altercation occurred. Snow procured a revolver and shot four of the women, a boy and - himself. A passer-by discovered the tragedy.
