His inclusion will give b‘ s colleagues confidence and his play at To Puke on Saturday last shows that he is as good aa ever. F. Harawera is a young exponent who should show to advantage in the three-quarter line. He is afforded an opportunity to make his name on Monday. C. Faulkner, a weighty player, who has shone in the vanguard on many fields, may be relied upon to make full use of his speed and tackling ability in his new position of wing three-quarter. A Mayfield, five-eighth, has won representative honours and is a decid ed acquisition to the team. He helps to make the game open. Tu Tangitu, recognised as one of the best forwards in the Bay of Plenty, was played in the position of five-eighths last Saturday, and acquitted himself so well as to lead to the impression that he is going to be a very reliable back. A new player to this district, J. Kelly, is placed behind the scrum. Re gave a good sound exhibition at Te Puke on Saturday and will prove a tower of strength to the representative fifteen. His attack and defence work has the right stamp about it.

The rover, D. Barclay, is wellknown for his reliability and may be depended upon to make_the game as open as possible. The forwards are a good lot and combine weight with speed. Sorreusen, Nathan, Bidois, Honiana and Bennett were members of last season’s forward division. Voice ha smuved up from the juniors and is well entitled to the honours which he has won. G. Mayfield is another young player whose inclusion serves to strengthen the vanguard. The Te Puke fifteen is an exceptionally strong one and will have plenty of supporters in the contest. The backs are a real good lot. The Wihapi Bros, and W. Tapsell make a formidable trio in the threequarter line. They run fast, handle with precision, field accurately, and tackle like ferrets. If tuned up to concert pitch on Monday they will make matters decidedly interesting. C. Montgomery is a strong link in the back chain and in addition to his ability to make the play open his powerful kicking is always a treat to witness.

Duncan, the rover, is a young play er, who may be relied upon to uphold his position. The Te Puke team is very strong in forwards, which will be led on this occasion by the astute general, McLean, who has many notable athletic achievements to his credit. His appearance here is being eagerly looked forward to by enthusiasts. The veteran, P. Tapsell, is to be as good as ever, which is saying a good deal. Heather is another fine forward equal to the Bay’s best. Sergeant is unbeatable, but at the time of writing there was no certainty as to his inclusion as he was select ed to proceed to join one of the native teams in Hawke’s Bay. Shaw is a player with a big reputation, and Courtney is of the heavy type ' who will keep the opposition busy.
