SERIOUS ACCIDENT TO MAIN TRUNK EXPRESS

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, Sept 25 To-day’s outward bound Main I'm 11k express met with a serious accident between Ngato and Khamhfllab. It appear that the train v,as steadily mounting the grade, when a coupling between the second and llv.ra carriages parted. The rear part of the train slid back until the brakes acted, while the engine and tore pan v. ! on -he forepart 01 the tram was pulled up, and was shunted back to join up with the rest of the carriages. Passengers got a fright, but no one was injured. When the coupling up was proceeding the fireman, Jack Mcecham, had one hand badly crushed.
