The regular meeting of the W. C T. U. was held on Friday afternoon in the Methodist Hall, the President occupying the chair. A former member joined, and a new member was initiated, bringingfthe membership up to fifty-two. An enjoyable time is assured for all patrons who' attend thc cabaret to be held in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening in aid of the funds of the Catholic Church. Yesterday’s services at the Methodist Church w-re well attended, especially the morning service, when the Boy Scouts were present. The Rev. Mitchell, of the Th ames, Scout Commissioner of the District, was in the pulpit and gave able addresses to Scouts and congregation. The singing at the evening choral service was hearty and inspiring, anthems being rendered by the choir and solos by Miss S. McFadgen and Padre Mitchell. This evening further music will he given and an address bytheßev. Mitchell, dealing with his experiences in Australia. A heaity welcome is extended to all interested to attend this meeting in Wesley Hall.

At a meeting held at Wliakatane last Thursday ever dug it was decided that the settlers themselves carry out a canvas to re-establish the freezing works and a committee of over thirtv members was appointed to deal with the matter and, if possible, tofput the, work through within'a iveex.
