PIPIROA TRAGEDY
ACCUSED TO STAND TRIAL FOR MURDER (For Frcss Association.) Thames, April 11 The proceedings conclud a d this morning in connection with the preliminary charges against Arthur William Page, for the alleged murder of Mrs Gladys M. Hutchison, at Pipiroa, on February 7. Accused was committed to stand his trial at Auckland on the charge of wilful murder. The evidence disclosed the tact that the accused made a voluntary statement to the police, admitting the crime and saying he a lon®, was responsible. At the inquest in connection with'the death of the diceased woman a verdict was returned by Mr J. H. Salmon, S.M., (Coroner) that Mrs Hutchison met her death, in accordance with the medical evidence as the result of gunshot wounds inflicted by fage earlier in the day. Throughout the proceedings the accused maintained an attitude of noneh lienee almost approaching indifference.
