COOK-BECKETT FIGHT
A POOR CONTENT Tolegrank-Press Association—Copynihi Aojuslian and N Z. Cable Aasocistjon Rec April 12, morning London, April 10 Cook said : “1 was beaten by a better man.” Beckett said ; “Cook is a good clean fighter, but was guilty of holding. I was slow owing to the result of influenza. I have a great desire to meet Carpentier.” The Daily Chronicle, commenting on the contest says : “It was a terribly poor exhibition. A good man would have beaten either contestant. Neither had any initiative. What one did depend ed on what the other did. The contest would not do credit to a suburban show.”
