London, August 3. Sir Ivobt. Horne, Chancellor of the Exchequer, has informed Mr. J. R. Clyues that Cabinet has decided in view.of Departmental replies to the Treasury economy circular, to appoint a select committee of business men to deal with the reductions in expenditure. .Sir Eric Geddes, who is resigning his portfolio shortly, has undertaken to devote bis whole time for the remainder of the year to the committe's work.
