Perth. July 12 Asa result of the strike all the Government orfices and schools are picketed No civil service work is being done. The Lumpers' Union and the Carters' Union of Fremantle and Perth arc sympathetic, and have refused to handle any Government goods which are declared black. The Premier, Mr Mitchell, has issued an ultimatum to his col leagues that he will resign rather than grant the strikers' demands, and as the Attorney General, Mr Draper, supports him in this attitude, the fate of the Government is in the balance.
