Objection to Statement in Hutt

Valley Independent

Wellington, Feb 12 Angus John McCurdy and Flora Mary McCurdy were proceeded against by R. .Semple on charges that they published in the Hutt Valley Independent untrue statements of and concerning Semple, calculated to influence the votes of electors as follows : "I am a German and proud of it," said Semple, at Auckland, during the 1914 strike, but at the Upper Hutt the other night he posed as an Australian, but he is not the only Red Fed Australian with Hun blood in his veins."
