iiir, — The Secretary of this departrrent writes to the Now Zealand Secretary of the C.A. esying—"The Recreftion Huts are regarded by our men of the armies of France 89 bright Bpota in a land of desolation." In Egypt V'>ey fcave been designated by tfie men themselves as "Homes from Home" and in all theatres of war they are the centres where t!ie first thrill of civilization can be found after the strain of battle. Our soldiers look upon them as loving links with Home, 83 receseary to %\\e them hope in battle. Appeals reach ua by every post urging us to extern! this vary important and necessary work for H.M. This appeal is carried on in New Zealand and a Church Army Hut Day arj ranged for in the diocese ofWaiapu on February 16 to add more huts to the iiins already given by New Zealandera for our own troops, who at the same lime already use the 1000 Huts we have on <*11 fronts, as the troops move to Bnd fro. The Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, writing from Wellington on January 14th, gives his approval t) our effort, adding "aa your fund is an approved one" and wishisg we may have a successful day for the soldiers. — 1 tin., etc..
