PUBLIC OPINION.
GERMANY AND THE PACIFIC. (To the UAitor.)
Sir, —I am glad to see an agitation is springing mi in New Zealand on this matte*, which n really -me of lif3 and death, nationally, for l:er. I have already briefly discussed the qimtnn ot united action in the matter, with our Mayor, and am 'flamed to learn from him that tie ia now moving, with a view to ascertain what is being dona in the larger centres. I consider it imperative that our strongest N«w Zealand statesmen nhould be cur delegates to the Imperial War Conference, and that there is no possible objection which they ehould insist more firmly, than that Germany should never again be allowed to set foot in the Pacific. Ido not propose to trespass on your space to discuss tlils menace at the length it merits, but rather to urge on every citizen of an age to think for himself or herself, to support to the uttermost, the Mayor in any action be may take to press the above view of tha matter upon C-ov-ernment. —I am, etc., U. ARNOLD WARD. Tauranga, 13th February, 1918.
