Ex-Minister and Cadet Leader Murdered.
Australian and N Z Cable Assoc. ■;' Rec Jan 23, 8 55am London, Jan 22 The Daily Chronicles's Petrograd correspondent states that M. Shingareff, ex-Minuter in the Provisional Government una M. Kokoshkin, a Cadet leader, were murdered on the 20th iosfe. They came to Petrograd to attend the Constituent Assembly and were arrested aud confined iv a fortress. Imprisonment resulted iv illness and they were removed at the request of friends to the Maine Hospital. They left the prison at 8 o'clock in the evening aud were murdered the same night. This is the heaviest blow.to the Cadets. Shingareff was a thorough democrat, scrupulously honest and siugle-nriuded. Kokoshkin was a prcfessor of political science and next to Milinkotf was Ihe Cadet Party's leading theorist. The friends of other imprisoned Ministers coutiuutUly fear they will be lynched. Au '•■ alavm. has been raised several .-.times.'-at- night, tho Red Guards deamudiug that the Ministers be handed over.-.-for.summary treatment. Konovaloft and Tretiako.fi have been transferred to a hospital. Terestcheuko, Kar^asheff, Bernatzky, Kishkin, and Stepaaofl are still in the fortress of •'lfeter and Paul.
