Karlsruhe Bombed by Airmen.
London, Jan 16 Sir Douglas Haig reports : We re- ' pulsed a strong raid north-east of Armentieros We made a successful raid north of Lens. The. raiding party bombed dug-outs and took prisoners. Our aeroplanes carried out bombing and machiue-gun work incessantly on Sunaay. They dropped bombs on a large ammunition dump near Roulers, and on billets, hutments, aud >i railway junction. They: also made a most succefsful raid over Germany by' daylight against the " railway "station aud munition factories at Karlsruhe, the capital of the Grand Duchy of Baden, intshe Rhine Valley, j They dropped- one ton .and a-quarter j of explosives, with excellent results, j Bursts were observed on buildings and sidings the main railway junction j ' in the centre of the town, aud ou - workshops and a smaller junction. j
