TECHNICAL EDUCATION.
In presctititig liis report to the Board of Educatiou ou Wednesday Mr J P Kalaugber. supervisor of the Dianual and-technical jbrauch, stated that lie intended, with the sauction of tiic Board, to make a sfcroug endeavour to eulist the sympathy of local bodies and all employers in the work of technical education. Ho hai drafted, a-circular letter which would be sent out in every town where-tech uical and continuation classes were held, pointing out the importance of this branch of instruction The • assistance of all employers was desired in order that, technical instruction might be made of greater practical benefit to the students. It had even been suggested to hiua, 3aid Mr J\alau'gher, that a clause should be inserted in. awards tc the effect that apprentices should be granted facilities in the way of taking full advantage of the opportunities offered by technical education.
