A private of the Suffolk regiment, who has returned to fcnglacd. describes tne horrors of the treatment of war prisoners at the Wittenberg camp. He says: "They took away my overcoat in freezing weather and made me march if. the snow barefooted. When I could rot walk the doctors refused 'to treat me, and left me to die. Three British doctors arrive;! and found me suffering from gangrene They operated, removing portions of both my feet." he declares, are frequent. When typhus broke gut the German doctors left.
