RUSSIANS OUTFLANK HUNGARIAN REGIMENT.
Nine Thousand Forced to Surrender.

Five Hungarian Regiments were entrenched .on the hills near Potchaeff. The Russians cleverly outflanked them and occupied the hill. They then opened a terrible fire on the fleeing enemy, compelling nine thou•sand to surrender. A communique states that desperate fighting took place at Stakhowtay, at the southern end of Lake Naroch. The Russians, captured eight German howiters and six light guns. The Germans, supported by hurricane artillery fire, drove the Russians from Stakbowtsy. The Russians, by a frssh attack, recaptured the farm. Two German attacks south of Smoigon were repulsed. Germans Continue Atrocities. Rec Oct 4, f 8 p.m. Petrograd, Oct 4. The enemy is continuing the atrocities. A Russian officer and two cavalry men who were taken prisoners were found at a distance from the battlefield with their eyes gouged out, teeth broken and other wounds.
