llec Oct-3, 12.10pm Paris, Oct 8 . A communique says :— Our positions were violently bombarded eastward of Souchez. We appreciably progressed from trench to trench on the heights of La Folio. We won iv the Champagne area a considerable portion of the enemy's positions, forming a salient on the present lines northward of Messnil. Our air squadrons threw many projectiles on stations and railways to the enemy's rear, notably at the Guiguicourt-Amsfoutaiue junction.
