WORKERS' DEPUTATION VISITS TRENCHES.

The Presa Bureau states that a Newcastle workers' deputation visited the Western front and conversed with officers and men in the trenches and learned the necessity of an adequate supply of ammunition, the fighters urging those at home to drop their differences to ensure tho utmost output.

Officers emphatically opine that the British, man for man, were superior to the Germans, and deprecated the constant tributes to German organisation. The British accomplishments in organisation were remarkable notably the convalescent camp, in which since December ten thousand men have recovered and re-entered the trenches. The secret of this success wag the utilisation of the abilities of the patients. All trades were represented --plumbing, tailoring, cooking, renovating, dentistry—all was done by the convalescents. The result was that tho men after a fortnight's rest and recreation were rehabilitated.

The deputation was impressed by the goodwill between officers and men, and their cheerful confidence in the final regult. Whatever were the events of the past a eplendid organisation existed to-day.

The fighters have a frightfully trying time at trench work, and only ask that we be loyal to them and supply shells in ever increasing quantities, without which success is impossible.

Tha deputation deplores the unwarranted reports of slacking of British factories. It is bad policy to spread such reports and depress the brave fighters, who have already more than enough to bear,
