BURNING OF GREEK STEAMER.
Survivors Reach New York.
New York, Sept 22. The Tuscania has arrived with '409 survivors of the Greek steamer Athenia, which was abandoned on iire at sea.
The crew fought the fire for thirtysix hours assisted by some of the passengers. The. S.O.S. calls brought the Tuscania, which sent- a fire-fighting party aboard.. They were, however, unab'e to get the flames under control, and the captain decided to abandon the ship.
All aboard were taken safely to the Tuscania and the Rumanian Prince, which is due to-morrow.
