The small arras f jotory strike at Litbgow, New Bouth Wales, has been settled, and the mm returned to work to-day.
A fire occurred at Donagby's rope works, South Dunedin, on Saturday night. The damage is roughly estimated at £8,000. The insurances totalled £16,000. About fifty hands aie out of work.
A Melbourne message says the total expenses in connection with the flotation of the war loan amount to £34,183, or 5a Id for each £100 raised. Financial experts regard this as a record low flotation.
