Intense Opposition by Workers
and Socialists.
Kec Sept 19,-10 am Petrograd, Sept 17 A private sitting of the Duma dosired AJ. Eodzianko, President-, to convey to the Cz.ir the Duma's fool ings concerning prorogation. It is believed these funlinajs are unanimous throughout Russia. There are indications that .M GoretuyHn, Premier, does not posses the support of any of his colleagues and tho responsibility'for the prorogation rests on him alone. The intenseness of the o.ppo.v.lion by the cadets and progressives is such that these parties have considered withdrawal from co operation with tlie Government upon war committees, but a decision lias not been reached Tin Workers1 J\irly has intimated that it would insist on discussing prorogation regardless of the business before the Duma. As a result the session lasted five minutes. M. Rodziauko, on entering the Chamber, invited the Duma to stand and hear the ukase. All stood up, except the Workeis' and Socialists" representatives, who hurriedly lef: the Chamber. x\ftir the ukase was read M Rodziauko called for three cheers for the Czar, which were given with great cordiality and the session ended.
