WOUNDED SOLDIERS.

Reception at Wellington.

Wellington, Sept 13. ; lhe reception given to returned wounded soldiers at the Town Hall on Saturday afternoon was an impressive sight. The men were taken from the ship's side in motor cars and driven through the principal streets and then to the Town Hall, where speeches wer<; delivered by His vVorship foe Mayor, His Excellency the Governor^ Sir J. Ward, and Hon. J. Allots.

Hospital Ship Maheno.

At the reception His Excellency the Governor read a cablegram 'received from the Admiralty's .inspectorGeneral of Hopitals at Mudros, stating that the New Zealand hospital ship Maheno had during the last eight days in August doalt with 2,200 cases of sick and wounded from the Gallipoli Peninsula. "She is the most completely equipped hospital ship," the Inspector-General added, "and Colonel Collins and stall' have done splendid work both surgical and medical." The whole procdeedings were marked by great enthusiasm.
