ATTEMPTED MURDER.
BY A JEALOUS WOMAN.
Sydney, March 7. A youn- woman named Alice Mabel Ranker., formerly a barmaid, waked iuto Hagoivs tailor's shop in Jung Street and tired four shots at an employee named Gilbert Irving, two striking him. His condition is serious The woman then fired two shots at her own breast, but will probably recover. The crime is said to be the outcome ot jealousy, arising out of Irving s recent marriage.
