A strong detachment of police guarded the meat market, but the mob surged into the stall, the supply of Argentine meat being quickly sold out at Is 4d per Ib, whi'e Austra van brought Is lOd. The people are clamouring for further supplies, and the united efforts of the police are required to erect barricades to contiol the mob. .Restaurants are serving Argentine meat as a delicacy.
