MEETING OF BOATING CLUB.
A meeting of the Boating Club was held at Mr Spencer's, yesterday. Present — Messrs J./W. Gray (in the chair), A. and W. Turner, F. Maxwell,

The meeting wag called to conclude the Thursday afternoon sailing races, and to discuss masters in connection with the same. , Mr G. Cummings proposed that a hearty vote of thinks be passed to H. B. Johnstone, |Esq., and a letter written to him jbhanking him for his kindness and liberality in presenting trophies to be sailed for, and thereby encouraging boitsailing. MrA. Turner had great pleasure in seconding the proposition. Carried unanimously. Dr Moir spoke with regard to the pleasure there was in boating, and. hoped that the Regatta Committee would be spoken to and asked to encourage boat building by offering a bonus, as last year. Mr Webster proposed that a vote of thanks be accorded to Dr Moir, as, through his energy, tlie Thursday afternoon meetings were always a sugcess. Seconded by Mr Maxwell, and carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
