[per press association.] Auckland, last night. Laying the foundation stone of the Government Insurance Buildings waa successfully performed by His "Worship the Mayor. The proceedings were rather interfered with by rain. Mr Edwin Hesketh of Auckland has been retained on behalf of Hall at Timaru in appeal from Judgment of lower Court. The property of the late Mr Hurst, Takapuna Lake was sold to-day at from 130 to 20D pounds per acre realising a total of £8303 all parties are gratified at the result. Typhoid continues spreading and two fever wards are being erected at the Hospital to mot demands for admission.
