WELLINGTON.
Monday. 1 The Hon. Thos. Henderson, M.L.C., died here yesterday, after a short ill- ' ness, aged 77 years. In accordance withf the expressed wish of deceased, , the remains will be conveyed to Auckf land for interment. 1 The body of a man namqd Edward 3 Mullen was found in the harbour yesterday. Another man, named John [ Eoberts, wlio was last seen in deceased's company, has been arrested 5 on suspicion df having caused Mullen's death. The coroner's jury to-day returned a verdict of found drowned. ' The schooner Pelican, timber laden, was found yesterday bottom up on j the beach a mile north of "Waitotara. river; beyond. Wanganui. All hands are supposed to be lost- She was commanded by Capt. Gilbert Brown. The ketch Thames has been totally wrecked at Port Underwood. The E.M.S. Tongariro arrived from Lyttelton this morning. She leaves for Auckland on Wednesday. The Kaiboura, with the homeward mails, sails hence on Thursday.
