WHAKATANE.
. Monday. The s.s. Douglas arrived yesterday from Whale Island, where she has been laying for shelter since Thursday last, experiencing very rough weather. The larder was exhausted, tobacco nil, and the spirits of crew and passengers depressed. She left this afternoon for Tauranga, with 405 bags of maize and 120 sheep from the Cattle Company's station. Passengers — Messrs Allwright and. Robson (sheep inspector).
