TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
A special meeting of the County Council took place yesterday at 11 a.m., for the purpose of strikiag a rate as notified. The following Couucillors were present : — Councillors J. Brown (Chairman), Armstrong, Campny, Killen, Kelly and G-albraith. The , County Engineer was also in attendance. T^ie minutes of the last ordinary meeting were read and confirmed, and the outward correspondence read and approved. Copies of the Balance Sheet for the year ending March 81, 1885, were laid before the Councillors. The Bate sook was also submitted to the Council for inspection. The Clerk having read the clauses of the acts under which the meeting was called, together with . the public notifications, it was proposed by Cr Armstrong, seconded by Cr Killen, that an annual rate of three farthings in the £be made. Carried. The Eate Book was then sigued in accordance with provisions under that head, and this concluded the business of the special meeting.
An ordinary meeting of the Comity Council took place on the same day at 2 p.m., the same Councillors being present.
