WHOLESALE RELEASES.*

One of the last acts of the National Cabinet was to authorise the release of all bona fide religiout objectors who were imprisoned for a breach of the Military Service Aot. The . recent Com. mission of Inquiry classified 140 imprisoned defaulters as conscientious religious objectors, and they were relieved of the penalty of ten years' civil disfranchisement. Other military de», faulters who have been serving a second imprisonment for this offenoe are also being released, jbut recalcitrants serving for a first offence remain in gaol- Sol* diers serving imprisonment for military offences are also being released.
