FATALITY AT OTOKIA.
. YOUNG MAN DROWNED. A regrettable occurance took place near Otokia yesterday afternoon, as the result of which a young man named Alfred Lobb, about 20 years of age loßt his life by drowning. It appears that he left his home on horseback to go to the place where ba was working on the other s : de of tho railway. When he had goie a short distance along the station road the horse shied and ran backwards into about 12ffc of water. The young man was thrown off, and he was seen by some boys on a hill to hold on to 'the reins for some moment?. The horse then soemed to fall back on him. and he disappeared. A strong curront of flood water was flow-* ing at this point, and it is considered that the body would bo carried away until it becomes entangled in a fenoe or some other obstruction Constable Soutbgate and a party secured a bcaWand went in search of the body, but they had not recovered it up till 8 o'clock last night. His body was recovered this morning and taken to the hotel at Henley to await the irquest.
