The party numbered 112, and Sergeant major Storrey (Milton) went up in chferga. A great deal of interest is being taken in the biattment by Sir James Allen in Dunedin that the authorities in England sue not sending men between 44 apd 45 tp the front now, hs they could not stand the strain, and that the question, so far as New Zealand is concerned, is now tinder consideration by Cabinoi Inquiries made by a Wellington Post repre eentative showed that the present age limit in England up to which men are being conscripted is 41, aud f it is con" tended that it is obvious from the Minis ter's statement that the same principle is being applied to New Zealand drafts reaching England. Cabinets decision, consequently, will be awaited with the keenest interest, as it must effect-a large "*" number of men in both the Firat and Second Divisions of the Expeditionary Force Keserve.
