Tokomairiro Farmers' Club

The usual monthly meeting of the Tokomairiro Farmers' Club was held on Thursday evening. .Present: Messrs J, B. Norrie (president, in the chair), A. Campbell (secretary) J. Grey, W. W. P. Hall, Jno. Parlane, Thos. Eitchon, Jdo. Tough, Wm. Moore. T. Mills, E. Martin, P. Porter, J. S. Fleming, J. Heads, T, Scott, J. Allison, J. M'Leod, W. Farquharson, Robert Ferguson, J. S. lnglis J. France, and H. W. Bastings. The judges of the childrens' essays, Rev. J, 0. Small and Mr Jas. Christie, wrote notifying the names of the winners. It was agreed that a hearty vote of thanks be passed to the judges for their labors. The following accounts were passed for payment John Parlane (two um brellas), £2 6a-, Brookes and Haig (music), £8 ; Alex Campbell (salary and postages half-year), 2s 6d; Marshall and Summers (iighting at Winter Show), 10s. u Mr J. S. Fleming said that the wish of the club had been carried out. He had got two nice unbrellas and presented one to Miss Charters, and one to Mr D.Andrews' for their services as judges. Mr Charters on behalf of his sister wiahedy him to convey her thanks to the club for the acknowledgement of her services, and . to say that she would be willing to as-, eist them in the future. Mr Andrew bad said the Same. The Secretary said the accounts would all bo to hand, and made up as to end of July, before which the annual meet" ing would be held. . —Social Committee.— A meeting of the Social Committee was held after the above.
