In Memoriam.
SPECIAL SERVICE-AT ST. JOHN'S. On Sunday evening a special service was conducted at S*. John's Church out respect to the late Mr J-I. M. Marryatf, who had fur so ma:iy years boen a pillar of tho Anglican Ohuich in Milton. Special hymns were sung—" Abide with me," " Now the laborer's task is o'er;" and others—while Mr Chas. King sang as a solo " Vital spark of hearenJy fiarao," and at the conclusion the congregation remained standing whilo "Tho Dead March " was played by tho acting organist, Miß3 Ring. The Vicar, Rev. J. C... Small, took his text from a passage in Thessalonians, " And so shall we ever bo with the Lord," and paid a vory high tribute to the character of his late church oflicer. Our report is held over.
