• (FtfOM Our Own Correspondent.) Mr Don. Cameron, son of Mr D. C. Cameron, and a member of the Methodist Lay Preachers' Association, occupied the pulpit at the Methodist Chapel last Sunday afternoon, and gave an interesting address on " The power of the Holy Spirit to believers in all their dealings." Rev. R. S. Allan notified, from pulpit on Sunday evening that he would preach his farewell sermon on Sunday evening, January Ist. The promoters of Cricket Club benefit, which takes place this evening, are very sanguine of the success of the concert. Tickets have been sold rapidly, and the performers have been rehearsing v.-ry assiduously, and one ! and all intend putting lorth their best efforts to please the public this evening. The Sports Committee have completed all necessary arrangement for their gathering on Monday (Boxing Day), and competitors from various parts of Otago and Dunedin have signified their intention of competing. Given fine weather, which is all that is now necessary, there should be a record and successful gathering. As we are now fast approaching the season of Yule Tide, which brings good cheer and peace and goodwill to all men, and as these will be my last notes ere the festive season is on, I must conclude, Mr Editor, with wishing you and members of the staff" and your readers the compliments of the season. A Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
