MILTON CRICKET CLUB.

It was decided at a meeting of the members of the Bruce Cricket Club, held last evening, to open the season on Saturday, the 7th inst, with a match Married v. Single. The hon. secretary reported that the Milton Brass Band would be in attendance and play a number of selections during the afternoon. After the formal part of the business had been disposed of, a resolution was unanimously passed expressing sympathy with the family of the late James Fahey in their recent sad bereavement. It was also resolved that owing to the sudden, tragic death of Mr Fahey the admission to the eround on Saturday should be by silver coin, and that the hon. sec. in forwarding the resolution of sympathy to Mrs Fahey should enclose a cheque for the gross amount of gate takings for her immediate use. The names of the players will appear in next issue. We feel sure that the people of Bruce will appreciate this thoughtful and graceful act on the part of the club. We hope that the public will roll up in great force on Saturday not only to witness the pla> and to hear the music, but also for the purpose of augmenting the amount to be handed over to the bereaved widow and orphans.
