Plain Lunch Cake.
Rub half-a^pound of well-clarified dripping into one and a-haif pound of flora**?; mix in ten ounces of caster sugar, ditto 1 sultanas, two teaspoonfuls of bakingpowder, two eggs, and a pint of miH_ ; break urp the yolk of eggs in the milk, and whip the whites separately ; add the sugar, sultanas, and halring-ipowfler to the flour, mix in the eggs and milk, and beat ten minutes. Have the tin well greased, add the beaten whites of eggs to the cake, pour the mixture into the tin ; place in the oven at once, and hake for one and a half houra, or longer, If necessary.
