The Land of the Moa

New Zealand news as cabled is generally ao very brief that we were gkd to secure an interview at the " Brisbane Oafe," George St., Sydney, with Mr William F. Jfigerton, who hails from Auckland. Our mission explained, Mr Egerton remarked : — " Well, I think I may claim to know something about the land of the Moa. We had a pleasant trip from Auckland, the weather very fine, but Btrange to say when 1 landed I became conscious of a peculiar sensation ; I could not account for it at the time, and in fact didn't know what was the matter with me. Voilent pains shot right through my body, and my head ached unmercifully and unceasingly. There was a feeling of intense impression at the chest, as though a heavy weight were pressing it in, A little later my appetite, nsually good, entirely left me, and my skin became painful to the touch My breathing, too, was very much affected. I could scarcely speak. Refreshiug sleep was an impossibility. I was often partially delirious, and sometimes would lie groaning with the paiu endured. A heavy cough attacked j me, I soon lobg flesn, and finally was confined to my bed with influenza.
