France and Siam
Two French Gun boats entered the Menam river in Siam, and exohanged shots with the forts, They are now anchored off Bangkok. The Siamese loss was 20 killed and the Freooh three killed and two wounded. Bangkok is under arms. The Siamese de olare the French commanders refused to obey the commands of the Frenoh minister in Bangkok not to enter the Menam river. Both the Frenoh and Siamese warships are ready for aotion, and 4000 troops are garrisond in Bankok. H.M.S. Linnet haß arrived to watoh British interests. The French Government explain that the orders to the commaudera mot to enter the river arrived two late. The Parisian press is delighted at their late arrival.
