DUNE DIN STOCK REPORT.

Following is repwrt of business done at Burnside Yards on Wednesday : — Fat Cattle. — 187 head yarded, including very prime drafts from Edendale and the Taieri. After last -week's over- supply, tbe demand as was to be expected . was very slack, and prices current to day were if anything a shade easier. Best bullocks (heavy weights) brought from £7 to £8 12j 61 ; good from £5 15s to £6 Iss ; light from £4: to £5 5s ; best cows from £1 10s to £5 10s ; ordinary, £3 to £4. Fat Sheep.— The supply was a smail one, only 1677 sheep being penned, about one third of them crossbred wethers and the balance crossbred ewes, in both cases of all qualities rarying from inferior to extra prime. The demand was only moderately active, excepting for best lots of freezers, which commanded a shade more money than last week ; in other descriptions we have no change in values to note. Bast crossbred wethers brought from 9i to 10i 6d ; ordinary, 7s 6d to 8s 9d ; best crossbred ewea from 7a 3J to 9s ; medium, 6s 6d to 7s ; inferior, 4s to 53. Fat Lambs. — 585 penned, and sold readily as follows :— Best, at from 6s 5d to 7s ; ordinary, 5s 9d to 6s 3d. Pigs. — 114 penned, mostly porkers and suckers. The few heavy bacon pigs forward sold badly, but grain-fed pigs weighing dressed about 1601 b sold readily, as also did porkers. Baoon pigs sold at from 303 to 42a, porkers at from 253 to 30a, suckera at from 103 to 14a. Store Sheep. — For crossbred wethers of suitable ages for fattening there are numerous inquiries ; but as sheep cf that description are not plentiful, but few sales have taken place. There are a few buyers of good breeding ewes, both merino and half bred ; and we hear of sales of the former at from 2s 6d to 3s for good sound-mouthed four and five-year-old sheep, and of the latter at 6s for four and six tooth ewes. In old sheep only fit for the " pot " a large business has been done at boiling-down rates, Sheepskins. — Fair catalogues were submitted at Monday's sale?, and all of them were cleared under very keen competition at excellent prices. Town butchers' croßSbred skins brought from 12d to 19d ; merino skins from 8d to 16i ; lambskins from Is 6d to 2s 4d ; country skins from 8d to 5s 61. Hides. — The demand for all descriptions is good, and rocent quotations are firmly maintained. Tallow. — We note an improved inquiry for all descriptions, both rough fat and rendered tallow. The quantity offering is inBufficieut for trade requirements, let alone the demand for suitable lots for export. We quote prime mutton at from ,£lB to £20 ; good mixed, £16 to £17 ; low and ordinary, £13 to £15 ; rough fat, £6 to .£ll •
