Information has been received that a party of Burmese rebels, who have been on a foraging expedition, but have been defeated in au encounter with the Burmese troops, have crossed the frontier into the Burmese territory. (night). The insurrection in Independent Burmah is rapidly extending. A severe encounter has taken place between the force of the Burmese Government troops and a body of rebels. The former were defeated, and their commander captured by the rebels and beheaded. Four companies of British regiments which wore ordered to the frontier of British Burmah have already started.
