Won by three quarters of a length. Time, 2 mm. 49secs. Two escaped convicts arrived to-day from Noumea in an open boat. Four left on Sept. 14th ; one died on the passage, and one was bushed on Whitsunday Island. Leiutenant Connor left at noon in search of the missing Frenchmen, accompanied by the police. October 2. The names 6r the French convicts who arrived in the open boat from Noumea are Thebalt and Lessier. The search for the third convict who was lost on Whitsunday Island has proved unsuccessful.
