Datbie wrote : '* Tn order that the mat tor b& settled at once, I beg to suggest that I be allowed to erect the weighbridge on the following, conditions, namely : (1) That the Council shall have the option of taking it at valuation at anytime ; (2) should it not give satisfaction I will undertake to remove it on receiving notice ; (3) that the charge be 6d per ton until a bye-law is passed which need not be done until the machine is proved to have, given satisfaction,' and other reason able conditions which . the Counci I' wish inserted. : By this the Oonriotl wilt not be bound in any way, as the whole responsibility will fall upon me."— Resolved— That the offer be accepted, and that his Worship and the mover be a 'committee to select the site.
