FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT

TROLLEY RUNS AWAY ON INCLINE.

A train on the War burton line crashed into a trolley containing sixteen men, of whom four—Pebertfy, Ralelam, Baxter and James—were killed and several injured. A portion of the Warburton line was being re-laid, and the men were proceeding to work on a trolley running down a steep incline near Wandin. The rain made the lines slippery, and they lost control of tire trolley, which rail' on to a. bridge just as the train from War burton rounded the curve. There was no time to avoid collision. Two iinen, Hayes and llyan, jumped from the trolley and .fell over the side of the' bridgee, and Avere terribly, injured. The others were thrown in all directions, and besides the four killed eight were injured in the collision. Jhe train conveyed the injured to Lilydale Hospital.
