In connection with the same affair two men were fined for being on the premises. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A charge of manslaughter arising out of.- the death of George Shaw at Leithneld on December 29 was investigated at Amberley yesterday, James Russell being the accused. The evidence showed there was somo skylarking in the bar of the Royal; Hotel at Leithfield, in the course of which) Russell' put Shaw oru a bench. After! more horseplay >a lump began, to rise on Shaw's neck. Shaw died as the result of the laceration of >a, vein. The evidence showed thero wasi nothing malicious in Russell's attitude, and the case was dismissed.
