BARQUE'S NARROW ESCAPE.

SAVED BY A SHIFT OF WIND

Press Assn —By telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, March IT.

The barque Pharos, from Autofagasta, narrowly escaped foundering. She was caught in a cyclone eighty miles off the Cook Group and was thrown over on her beam ends, the ballast shifting. The crew awaited the end,, when a shift of the wind caused the vessel to right herself, only to be thrown over on the other side.

She again righted and the weather moderated.
