HOME MARKETS. [press association.] WELLINGTON, This Day. The High Commissioner's London cable, received to-day, states that the butter market is very firm. The demand has been exceptional, and exceeds supply of stocks. NeAv Zealand butter to hand is almost exhausted, and isi firmly held in second hands. The average price of choicest Ncav Zealand butter is 130s per CAvt.; Australian and Argentine 1265, Danish 1365, Siberian 1255.
The cheese market is firm, and prices advanced, but buyers are cautious; Ncav Zealand Avhite cheese averaging -61s, colored 59s 6d. The average price of Canterbury mutton is 4§d.
